The BLIS programme has been designed and developed by faculty of Library and Information Science, School of Social Sciences, Indira Gandhi National Open University, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi –110068.
In this programme, there are 9 courses out of which 5 courses (BLI 224, BLIE 227, BLIE 228 and BLIE 229) includes practical component. Remaining four courses are theory based (BLI 221, BLI 222, BLI 223 and BLI 226).
The admission to Bachelor Degree programme in Library and Information Science is offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University in January and July academic sessions.
The learners who have taken admission in any of these admission sessions have to submit one IGNOU BLIS solved assignment 2019-20 each in all the courses. In BLI-224 and BLIE-229 there will be a compulsory practical component.
Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA) and Practicals will be evaluated by the counsellor.
The Ignou BLIS assignment question papers of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year can be easily downloaded in English or Hindi medium from the official website for the session 2019-20.
The students who have to appear in June 2020 and December 2020 examination have to write Ignou BLIS assignment answers from the questions uploaded on the website.The university uploads the assignment questions once in a year for both sessions.
It is necessary to submit the solved assignments for required courses to appear in the Term-end examination on or before the last date of submission.Students are requested to carefully read the instructions provided in the student handbook & prospectus before writing the assignments.

- Validity of Assignment: These assignments will remain valid for July 2019 and January 2020 session.
Some Ignou BLIS assignment are of 70 marks and few are of 30 marks.The marks weightage of questions in each assignment may vary.
For 10 marks questions, student should write an answer within the approximate limit of 500 words each. For 5 marks question, the word limit should be within 250 words each. For 5 marks question, the word limit is 150. In the same way, the 4 marks question has to be written within word limit of 100.
The university gives 30% weightage to these assignments. It means the 30% of the total marks obtained by the students in the assignments will be added in the total marks of the course. Therefore total marks for any course will be combination of 70% theory and 30% assignment marks.
